When Content Creation Sparked a Business Redesign

How one blog post helped me rebuild my business from the inside out.
TL;DR: The Pivot in a Nutshell
This blog started with a realization:
Turns out, where I really want to operate isn’t just building systems—it’s helping people make sense of them. (If that makes sense 😉.)
Ironically, it was my last blog post—the one about using generative AI to automate workflows for blogs and LinkedIn—that gave me this clarity and led to a pretty significant redesign of Savvyn Insights, now built around three streamlined, high-impact offerings:
📝 Savvyn Docs
Turn rough notes into polished deliverables—fast. We use AI-powered drafting and domain expertise to create high-trust content like IRBs, white papers, protocols, and board briefs.
📊 Savvyn Data
Transform raw data into structured insights. We take messy spreadsheets, research, and clinical intel and turn them into clean, strategic visuals—trackers, summaries, or mock dashboards.
🧠 Savvyn Strategy
Design smarter workflows with your content, data, and goals. We don’t just talk about AI—we help life sciences leaders find the real use cases and build practical, science-aware systems that actually stick.
💡 Bonus: We’ve also launched Savvyn Foundations, a service for individual professionals looking to integrate generative AI into their real-world work—without tech overwhelm. And Savvyn Futures (coming soon!) will focus on student mentorship and local community impact.
Yes, ChatGPT helped me get here—like an overly hyped up, always-on strategy partner. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Three Big Aha Moments
Spoiler alert: Three big aha moments ahead.(And yes, one of them involves me accidentally building a mentorship program.)

This whole pivot came down to three big realizations:
A clearer core – Refined offerings that reflect what I actually do best: turning scientific complexity into clear, high-impact outputs.
A deeper impact – Launching Savvyn Futures, a mentorship program for local students, that lets me root deeper into my own community.
A smarter format – Realizing sprints weren’t just a way to deliver client work—they’re a way to build a sustainable business (and life).
The Moment Everything Shifted
When I started building Savvyn Insights, I knew I wanted to offer high-impact, AI-powered services for life sciences and biotech teams. But something still felt off. I was testing what kind of work actually felt aligned—what energized me, and what quietly drained me.
After publishing that blog, I realized I didn’t actually want to be in the business of setting up Zaps and integrations for other people. I wanted to work at the intersection of what I actually love: science, strategy, and structured thinking—powered by AI.
So I did what I do when I'm stuck: I opened ChatGPT, typed out what was true for me, and asked for help.
Me: "I live in Maine and want to support the local economy. I may want to put down roots and have a physical office or location nearby. I’m deeply trained (like decades of school and professional work) in life sciences, oncology, precision medicine. I’m really good at AI prompting (turns out!). I can see things and piece them together really easily. My current offerings aren’t matching this vision—help me figure out why."
That simple exercise led to more clarity than I expected. ChatGPT did what it does best: mirror back my own thoughts—but cleaner, sharper, and oddly enthusiastic.
It reminded me that I’m not just good at prompting. I’m good at knowing what to prompt—and using that ability to cut through scientific, operational, or narrative chaos. That I don’t need to be deep in someone else’s systems—I can be the person who helps them see the system. And that I’m at my best in focused sprints: the high-intensity, time-boxed kind of work that moves things forward fast.

Somewhere in the brainstorm, ChatGPT handed me an idea I didn’t even realize I was trying to articulate: a student mentorship initiative. I’d been wanting to find a way to support local students—not just high school or college, but even younger, since my own kids are still in elementary school. I knew I wanted to put down roots in the community more purposefully, but hadn’t figured out how. Enter: Savvyn Futures. A side quest in mentorship and local impact—something I didn’t know I was ready for, but instantly loved.
All jokes aside, I can’t overstate the value of ChatGPT here. It helped me crystalize elusive thoughts and feelings that had been floating around in plain sight for months. This wasn’t a rebrand. It was a return to what’s true.
What Savvyn Looks Like Now
Our core business offerings are now centered on three services—designed to flow together:
Each offering stands alone—but they’re even stronger in sequence.
Often, a project starts with Savvyn Docs, where we transform unstructured content into high-trust documents: IRBs, white papers, clinical protocols, board updates, and more. From there, Savvyn Data surfaces insights hiding in your research, spreadsheets, or operational mess—laying the foundation for smarter planning. And once we’ve clarified what you have, Savvyn Strategy steps in to connect the dots: building real, scalable workflows so your systems actually work for you—not the other way around.
One of the biggest a-ha moments? Realizing that the sprint model—something I used constantly during my product management days—was the perfect fit all along. Short, focused, time-boxed work has always been where I thrive. It’s how I’ve tackled complex problems, built cross-functional clarity, and shipped real outcomes fast. I just hadn’t thought to apply it to my own business.

Now, every Savvyn offering can be run as a sprint—not just Strategy. Whether we’re tackling a high-priority document or distilling complex data into dashboards, clients can opt for a "Clarity in 1 Week" model: defined scope, tangible output, no lingering threads.
It’s efficient, flexible, and leaves space for deep focus—without burning out or getting buried in never-ending projects. And, just as importantly, it leaves room for life. Want to pause in August? I can. Need a stretch of heads-down time? It’s built into the system. Sprints allow me to work in alignment with my energy, my seasons, and my priorities—without sacrificing impact.
And yes, ChatGPT played co-pilot the whole way. From idea to naming to structure. Like having an impossibly fast-thinking strategist in the room (but with fewer meetings).
What About “For Individuals”?
I’ve also rethought the “For Individuals” side of the site. Originally, I had a few offerings for workflow automation and productivity. But they felt disconnected from the deep, domain-specific work I really want to do.
We’ve also refined our support for individuals:
💡 Savvyn Foundations – Built for working professionals in life sciences who want to start using generative AI in a way that’s relevant, strategic, and low-friction. Think: custom prompt packs, async coaching, and high-trust templates.
🌱 Savvyn Futures – Coming soon: our community-focused initiative to support students and early-career scientists in Maine with real-world skills, mentorship, and strategic clarity.
So What Changed?
Nothing and everything.
Savvyn was always about 'Chaos to Clarity'. Now it delivers it with sharper focus, more alignment, and a pace that actually works for my life.
This isn’t just a business redesign. It’s a reflection of the kind of business I want to run—and the kind of life I want to live.
