How I Named Savvyn Insights (Before I Even Knew Exactly What It Would Be)

Most people start a business by figuring out what they’re going to do. I started with a name.
Even before I had a full business model or a detailed plan, I knew I wanted a name that truly resonated with me—one that reflected my mindset, my values, and the kind of work I wanted to put into the world.
Was it the most strategic decision from a naming perspective? Maybe not. Non-mainstream business names can be challenging. They’re not instantly recognizable, and you have to help people understand what they stand for. But I wasn’t trying to play it safe—and I needed a name that matched that energy.
The Mindset Behind the Name
In the weeks leading up to my transition from my last role, I found myself saying (only half jokingly) that I was entering my 'savage era' (😂)—cutting through the noise, saying no more often, and approaching life with a new kind of focus.
Not reckless. Just intentional. (Okay, some might say quitting your job without a detailed plan is a little reckless—but I’d call it strategic clarity!)
While I didn’t walk away with a plan, I left with perspective.
It was about letting go of the unnecessary, the inefficient, and the compromises I was no longer willing to make. I didn’t know exactly what I was building next—but I knew I wanted purpose, impact, and a future I could shape on my own terms.
The Spiral of Naming
Before anything clicked, I went through a lot of options.
I knew I wanted something modern and memorable. Short. Bold. Slightly edgy, but still professional. So naturally, I built a giant spreadsheet—and then spiraled.
At first, I chased names that felt bold and untamed. I was processing what I had just left behind. I wanted a name that reflected that shift. Something honest. Unfiltered. A little defiant. A signal that I was done compromising, and ready to build on my own terms. I explored edgy options like Ruthix, Ravix, Ravyn, and Savrik—names that punched through the noise… and maybe punched a little too hard 😉.
I tested names like Clari.ai, Optiv, and Nexavi. I explored options that hinted at tech and automation—SavvAI, Synvix, Effyx, Lumix—but most felt either too literal or too clinical for the kind of brand I wanted to build. I even dabbled in minimalist branding (Vycta, Nyrve, Fluxa) and tried more traditional, big-firm sounding names that felt polished—but ultimately too generic. I wandered through everything from biotech-inspired blends to fierce, edgy combos that sounded better suited for a dystopian startup than the brand I was building.
Then I pivoted. I wanted something that felt just as strong—but with a little more strategy baked in. So I shifted toward names rooted in savvy—clever, forward-thinking, quietly powerful. I tested ideas like Savvix, Savvia, and Savyn. That’s when the real spiral began.
Some names looked great on paper. Others sparked a bit of a vibe. But none of them captured what I really wanted.
Eventually, after all the back-and-forth, something finally clicked.
➡️ Savvy = Intelligent, strategic, always ahead of the curve
➡️ Savage (but toned down) = Ruthlessly efficient, focused, and direct
➡️ The “y” + “n” = Clean, modern, and just different enough
That was it: Savvyn. I had the name before I had the business—but I knew it fit. It felt right—distinct, flexible, and strong enough to carry what I was building.
But it still needed something more—a grounding word that could hold the weight of the work I actually do. Something that made the brand feel complete.
Why “Insights”?
Once the name was set, the rest started to come together.
I added Insights to reflect what I actually do: helping people and teams make sense of messy, unstructured data; using AI to create smarter systems and streamlined workflows; and eliminating inefficiency, reducing complexity, and delivering clarity.
“Insights” grounded the brand in intelligence and transformation—while still giving me the flexibility to grow beyond just consulting.
I also explored other combinations that added structure or scale—names like Savvyn Intelligence, Savvyn Systems, Savvyn & Co., and Savvyn Global. Each brought something different to the table, but none felt quite right. I considered more “big firm” options too, like Savvyn Advisory (SVA), which sounded authoritative but felt a bit too corporate. Savvyn Advisory Group or Savvyn Insights Group had a scalable feel, but they were clunky and lacked distinction. Even Savvyn Labs made the list—but it felt too startup-tech and risked giving the impression that we were a digital R&D firm rather than a strategic partner.
But Insights was the right fit: Broad enough to evolve, sharp enough to stand out, and short enough to just be Savvyn in conversation.
The Tagline(s)
With the name in place, the next challenge was finding the right words to capture what Savvyn actually delivers—and how.
The first line that truly stuck was: “From Chaos to Clarity.”
Simple. Sharp. It captured the core of what I do—transforming messy data, inefficient workflows, and operational clutter into something clean, actionable, and scalable.
Eventually, I added:“Insights Made Simple.” Together, they became the foundation for the brand’s promise:
From Chaos to Clarity. Insights Made Simple.
That tagline is about the result—what clients walk away with.
But I also wanted something that captured how I work.Because this wasn’t about hustle or perfectionism. It was about building smarter systems that saved time, eliminated friction, and got to the point—fast.
So I layered in a supportive message:
Work smarter. Faster. Better.
And finally, I landed on a personal mantra that defined the mindset behind it all:
Ruthlessly Efficient. Built for Impact.
Each one plays a different role:
➡️ The first is the promise.
➡️ The second is the approach.
➡️ The third is the energy.
Together, they became the heartbeat of Savvyn Insights—clear, effective, and solidly aligned with the systems I build and the results I deliver.
Why It Works
Because it reflects not just how I work, but why I work the way I do. Savvyn is built on clarity, efficiency, and meaningful impact—with a little edge.
Savvyn Insights isn’t a generic consultancy or a faceless AI product. And in some ways, the “savage” in Savvyn will always carry a quiet reminder of what led me here—and everything I’ve learned along the way. It reflects the shift, the growth, and the decision to do things differently. I’m proud of where I came from. But I’m even more excited about where I’m headed.
And someday, when someone says,“Have you talked to Savvyn?”I want them to know exactly what that means.
What’s Next
With the name locked in, the systems built, and the foundation solid—Savvyn Insights is officially live.
In the next post, I’ll share exactly how I run my business using AI-first tools, automation, and simple systems that get results (without the fluff).
Until then, just remember: The chaos isn’t the problem. The lack of clarity is. And that’s exactly what we help solve.
